WHERE do you buy your dod food?

Post by Pastor Brown » Thu Jan 30, 2014 9:20 am

through the help of GDF, I've decided to go with PPP 30/20 for my GSP.

But we live an hour away from the nearest store that sells it.

Does anyone buy online? if so, WHERE DO YOU BUY YOUR FOOD?

figured I'd see if there was an online site that I haven't found yet. - Thanks for all your experienced advice!!

Chewy.com sells PPP and will ship for free on orders >$49. They also have an autoship plan that ships on a user-specified interval. When I see a sale I usually stock up on a few bags and postpone the autoship.

I buy my Pro-Plan at Petsmart. Every Saturday the Purina rep is there and they give 10 dollar a bag off coupons and I use them in conjunction with my other coupon which is usually a couple of bucks. A bag ends up costing me 35 dollars plus tax.

I was gonna say Pro Plan isn't a good deal on-line, best to buy it locally.

Chewy.com is great for specialty items.

Local feed store. You might have one closer to you than going into the city.

A lot of Hardware stores sell feed as well as some grocery stores or whatever business you have locally. If they don't talk to them.

In North Dakota I would think Tuffy/Nutrisource is available in most places because its made in Minnesota.

I go out of my way to support local feed stores. I do this just because I think it is the right thing to do, but I have found that there are some fringe benefits. At one time, before I had homing pigeons, the local feed store owner let me trap feral pigeons around his buildings. The owner always knows who raises game birds, as they generally buy feed from him. On the rare occasion that I have a litter of puppies the feed store owner is happy to let all of the other local bird hunters that buy feed there that I have puppies available. It is generally just a great networking opportunity.

I buy from Chewy.com -- use the autoship feature. For a new customer I found a discount code online -- saved a bit on the first order.

Anyways, I hate having to go to the store to buy petfood and if I could order my groceries online I would.

People on this site turned me on to the chewy site -- Ive been happy so far -- about 4 months in. Am down to one dog now so set up autoship for 2 bags every 2 months and then when Im carrying a 2 bag overstock of it I'll probably back off to every 3-4 months.

I go out of my way to buy everything local too. My heart is in this community, & I support the people of ND as often as possible.

But believe me, no one sells it out here. have to drive to Bismarck to get it.

Ask your local store if they deal with American Distribution out of Cottage Grove MN. They can supply them.

I too believe in supporting my local stores. Unfortunately I live in a part of the country that doesn't reliably carry Diamond. So I had to switch to 4Health from TSC. I am glad I did. The 4Health performance has made a difference in my dogs' energy level and ability to recover after a hard day of hunting.
