Heartworm meds and/or Flea/tick treatments......

Post by Nebraska » Mon Jun 08, 2009 8:59 pm

If you're using Hartguard and/or Frontline Plus, where is the best place to pick up a 6 month or year supply?

Also, if you're not using one or either of those, what are you using and why and where's the best place to get it??

Thanks....

Use I-vomec for heartworm protection; and bath dog with Dawn dish washing soap for flees.
(Look under I-vomec posts for more detailed disscussion on heartworm prevention)

I'll make sure to check out I-vomec but what's the deal with bathing your dog in Dawn?!?! I've never heard of anything like that.....

Thanks for the input so far!!

Depends on which I-vomec you get , if you get the liquid you just squirt in thier mouth, if you get the paste, just rub it on the tounge; I guess both are given orally. What ever you do don't give I-vomec plus.
As far as Dawn dish soap; I read that on a forum ( don't remember where)tryed it and it works for me, killed the flees and bath every now and then seems to keep them away, don't really have a tecnical explainationas to why.

I get Frontline Plus at a local independent pet store for almost cost. I use Heartguard and get that from my vet.

K9 Advantix (fleas, ticks & mosquitoes) we get from whichever online source is cheapest. Heartguard we're still buying from the vet because once you add in the shipping & tax for most onine sites, his price is competitive.
