Anyone feed Diamond Natural?

Post by tenbearsviz » Wed Nov 05, 2008 3:04 pm

I am looking for a Proplan alternative and found Diamond Naturals.

Anyone had experiances with this line?

I fed it for a while and didn't like the dogs' stools. Switched to Black Gold Plantation blend over a year ago and have been happy since.
Be wary of the man in the tattered old hunting coat with the bony pointer and the well worn side by side, he'll outshoot you every day.

I have just fed 2 bags of Diamond Natural C&R. Stools are great, coat looks good, and energy high on my old dog.

I was feeding natural L&R, I am now feeding extreme athelete and so far so good. I get E A for $29 a bag and so far dont need to feed as much so the cost increase is a non issue so far as well. I also like that it doesnt have any corn in it.

It is a pretty good food, for the money you would be better off buying Exceed at your local Sams Club.

I've been feeding the Natural Chicken & Rice. The dogs do well on it.

I am also feeding the extreme athlete, I switched a few weeks ago and have been pleased. Just returned from a week of hard hunting in the sloughs of South Dakota. The dogs plowed through that stuff all day long. My DD got a 6 inch gash on his underside that ended up requiring surgery and never slowed down.

Fed two bags of the extreme energy while waiting on Native to arrive. Weight stayed on, skin was fine, stools softer and lighter than on native level 4. Across the board consistant with all 5 dogs on it all had same results.

Brenda, I found the coat of my dog to be more rough while on Exceed. But it could have been kennel life as well.

See ya in Wrightsville next week?

I am on Diamond Naturals C and R. I give it an A for quality. Dog has good energy, stools are great, I am near a Tractor Supply, and the price is right. I switched to Diamond Natty from Black Gold. Black Gold was also good, but was too far away and unreliable stock. Happy customer of both...

I've been feeding my dogs Diamond or its Costco equivalent and am extremely happy with it. Good energy and coats on both my Chessie and Malamute. (Too much energy for a Malamute in the house.)

Brenda - How much Exceed Performance do you feed to each dog? I am having to feed my field trial dogs 8 cups a day to maintain weight and condition for them.

We work them pretty hard - roading them 50 min to an hour 3 times a week and running from horseback 1 to 2 times a week.
