Chiggers in yard..any pet friendly pesticides?
We get these every year. The wife can't stand the fact that she can't go out and enjoy the yard because of the little buggers. We have a fenced in yard that our setter has the run of during the day. I'm kind of learly of putting down granular pesticide on the yard that the dog runs in. Maybe there is a spray pesticide that would be more pet friendly. I have to do something to knock them out that's for sure. Any ideas what product would be OK to use? WDO

Thank god I don't have those things up here where i live.
I did some checking and here is a website that talks about the subject and a few remedies you can try. If you scroll down there is a yard treatment that claims to be safe for humans and pets but since I have no experience with it I can't help with how well it works.

Dusting sulfur and a product called cedarcide granules work pretty well of fleas and ticks. I suspect they'd do just as well for chiggars. I know using dusting sulfur on your pant legs and boots/shoes certainly cuts down on chigger bites. CR
