Equine Safe-Guard Paste (Fenbendazole)

Post by bphelps56 » Sun Feb 10, 2008 3:37 pm

Is anyone using the Equine Safe-Guard (fenbendazole) 10% paste for worming their dogs? If so, what is the dosage rate?

As I recall, fenbendazole 10% paste for horses requires 10x the amount for dogs. So set the ring to 500lbs for a 50lb dog. Most studies conclude Fenbendazole needs 3 applications, like 3 days in a row to do the job.

You need to check all this yourself, I ain't no vet, nor play one on TV.

I had found some info that pretty much backs up what you have posted. To take it one-step futher, I transferred the amount for a 500 lb. horse into a large syringe and it equaled 10 cc. The best I can tell, the dosage would be about 2 cc per 10lbs. of body weight.
