Ezzy- I don't agree with everything Mbosco says but I'll have to agree that it looks like your just poking to create an argument. He was having a back and forth discussion with the original poster. He simply stated duck eggs were higher in New Jersey. Why in the sam heck should he have to come up with an explanation as to why they cost more? As far as being "richer" ...which i assume he means higher in fat/calories he's right about that as well. JMO

Thanks for the post. This is what I was asking Mcbosco about. Still not sure where the info comes from but at least we can see an actual comparison. I did ask if he knew why they cost more because I was wondering if he thought they did because they were larger or more nutritious. One thing you do need to be aware of is that duck eggs vary in size greatly depending on the breed of duck. And thesecomparisons are for a medium chicken egg and not a large or extra large that most people use.

But you are right, they do appear to be higher in fat and protien while being lower in some of the vitamins. Would be my guess that a constant supply of duck eggs that are fresh would be hard to come by since they only lay a few eggs during the summer months if you keep them from setting.

I don't think it is bad to ask for some type of evidence to back up a claim made in a post that is not common knowledge but I am sorry if it came across wrong.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

This discussion has been very informative. My wife has 6 ducks and they are still laying eggs. We do not allow the ducks to set; we will let them breed next spring.

Thanks to everyone for all their time and information

Tell us all why ducks eggs are more expensive.
I saw excellent added value in his post - he asked for corroboration of a stated fact. Seems you couldn't give it, but fortunately someone else provided it for you.

Given your past performance you will need to forgive us a little skepticism. But I do always enjoy learning things - one of the reasons I hang out around here. Next time my cholesterol needs a boost I will put out the extra for duck eggs.

Please enlighten me on my past performance. Was it when I was right about bloat or any number of things. Please support your statements, it is only fair right Slis.

My bad. I will never question you again. Are you starting a compound somewhere? I have an inkling to move.

After reading this thread, I switched from Exceed to the black bag 24/20, so far very happy with the switch. Dogs are eating fine and stools look good.

That's where I got it $24.99 bag. The elevator in town carries Sportmix but not the black bag for $22 a bag. They will order me the black and sell it at the same price, but I have to buy what ever I tell them to order me. I figured I would buy a few bags from TSC and make sure I like it first.
