Health Clearances

Post by Lastfrontier » Sat Nov 09, 2013 9:08 pm

I have a FECS bitch that I am considering breeding, so far we have done her OFA for hips and elbows, as well as CERF( or the new OFA equivelent of) and looking to get her PRA done. Looking at the breed club website. they list a long line of clearances that they suggest. What clearances do you do for your breed and how do you evaluate what extras should be done taking into account the differences between bench and field ( my breed is very distinct and the two lines separate.)

Research what your breed is susceptible to and test for it. Doesn't matter if field or show, the genetic challenges are the same.
