Where's the "All of the Above" button?!?! You surely can't expect me to pick just one...... I must admit a soft spot for the Black Moulds though.......

I like the White/liver with a little more ticking, but I will have to agree I cant just pick one

I like them all but if I had a choice it would be a white GSP with liver spots because they stand out better when hunting than the darker ones. But I love the solid liver GSP's as well.

I gotta say, OK I have a favorite color. But when we are out hunting, my favorite colored GSP is the one that is on point at any given moment.

Excluding any of the Black combinations, I guess I have one of each.... and you expect me to pick a favorite??

Depends on the dog I'd think. I seem to look more at bone structure, size & conditioning, and conformity more than color. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be a hot ticked liver and white. Darker liver color, not the brownish-tanish shade you can get from some.

Right now, though, there is a solid liver and a black and white ticked pair of males that I get to train with and they both look good. Very solid dogs. The black and white ticked male is quite a bit younger, under two years, but just came back in for training after being gone most of the late spring and summer. He grew up fast!

Me bad. I have to admit I forgot that one. I do have to agree that it is tough to pick just one. I have 9 solid livers, 5 white/liver roan, and 2 white/liver pups right now and they are all good looking. I love my all black male also.

I think the hot ticking, like my Rip or Chance, dog at the top of pg is my fvorite color, second to that is solid liver. Steven, are any of those Cody pups?

That is what I call Moesgaard - white and liver ticked, liver patches also with the Moesgaard ticked background. It is the color of the dogs originally imported from Denmark.

When I think of Moesgaard I think of our Fritz coloring. More white than liver and patches, a few ticks. Chance and Rip are l/w ticked all over. Guess it`s about the same. I am not a fan of too much white tho...

I'm pretty sure the black and white male, Radar (who, by the way, is was named before being sold to a police officer - funny coincidence), came out of the Cody and Tag breeding. The solid liver dog is Tigger, quite a bit older, who came back home.

I really like the solid liver. I don't know what it is, I bet you could do some sort of personality traits test out of what coloring of GSP you like. Any shrinks on here? Give us a description on what it means when you like a certain coloring of the breed.

I prefer mostly white because they are easier to see in the tall brown grass. I wouldn't turn any color down if it were a good dog thou.

I saw a photo of "Tell" once and I wouldn't say there was a lot of ticking on him! But if you go back to moesgaard, you gotta be going in the right direction.

My favorite color is White with a bit of liver and a little ticking. Then it's solid liver. White dogs are easy to spot as are solid liver dog's. White get's a bit harder in the snow. But roan dog's blend in to well and become harder to see.

One of my favorite dog's was white and lemon, oop's, wrong breed!

I like the solid Liver's the best. Easier for me to see in cover. That's just me. A good GSP is a good GSP, and I like them all. :D

I really prefer the piebald dogs or dogs that have markings like Holstein cows. My second favorite is a shiny solid liver coat.

I like all of them more so the white/liver or liver/white the best. But truely truely love that dog and finding in out front on a large covey of quail/chuckar and watching them flush all around us in taking flight. All pointing breeds are great when their doing what they love to do with style and grace. :)

Mike is right. A good dog is a good dog, no matter what color. They all have their advantages in different types of cover, but I tend to be able to see the white ones easier when they are on a limb, almost out of site. So, that is what I have. White, and white/liver.

I prefer the lighter colored GSP's for the practical reason that they tend to stay cooler when you're trialing/training, etc on HOT days. The darker the dog the quicker they collect the rays of the sun and heat up.
