Compete, test/hunting

I was curious to see some actual numbers on this so, with your dogs do you compete/test, hunt, or both. By both I mean do you use the same dogs for competing/testing and hunting.

This is my boy's first hunting season, we trained all Spring for it. After January, when the hunt season ends, we'll probably do testing just to fill the time and keep him from getting bored. I already know he can hunt, so testing is just practice without real guns.

That's what it is all about. Doing things with your dog that you both enjoy.

On this board it will probably 10-1 compete or compete/hunt to hunt only, in the real world its probably 80-1 hunt only.
