Breed Poll: What are the size of your dog's "wrists"?

Post by Wesson00 » Mon Nov 29, 2010 2:12 pm

Hi there! Please participate in this poll to help me out with a research project.

Could you respond with:

1) the breed of your dog and 2) the size (circumference) of it's "wrist's" and "ankles" just above where the paw bends?

THANKS so much! :D

Could I convince a couple of you to participate in my poll?

This is for my school research project and I have to have the results in by next week so any help would be awesome!

The research project is to get data on dog wrist and ankle measurements to see if there is any link in the size of the bones by breed to arthritis.

You are asking about the size or circumference of the pastern and stifle, the area between the foot and the dew claw I think. I have no idea but if I remember I will measure them tonight when I bring them all in. Think they are called the metacarpus and metatarsus bones in the dogs. Don't think dogs have ankles and wrists. That might not go over real big with your teacher if he/she knows anything about animals.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

Thanks Ezzy - you are right. It's easier for me to ask people for their dog's wrist and ankle sizes instead of the technical terms. :) Thanks so much!

What is your hypothesis?
How are you going to prove your hypothesis to be true or false?
What are the variables.?
