Sleeping situation
Sleeping situation
I am a sucker, My dogs sleep in bed with my wife and I. Sometimes 3 dogs, me, the wife, and 7 year old that had a bad dream.
Speak kindly to me, beloved master. Revel in my unconditional love, and give me every minute that you can spare, for my time with you is short.
Re: Sleeping situation

You have a friend with one, ask him

Re: Sleeping situation
2 dogs in the bed. Big Hound sleeps on top of the covers at the bottom and the GSP is always under the covers sprawled out. He has to be touching/laying on everyone.
Re: Sleeping situation
Thank goodness for king size beds.

Re: Sleeping situation
Mine are required to stay off of the furniture & are crated at night except at hunting camp in ND where the dogs often outnumber the people and get the run of the dwellings. I still crate my younger, untrustworthy dogs at camp. The older ones sleep on the couches by themselves or with anyone else that's sleeping there, unless they get pushed off onto the floor. The dogs know the difference between home & hunting camp. They party hearty at camp. The problem with dogs in the house at camp originates with one of my brother's dogs as they like to wake the whole household if someone comes to camp late or if they hear anything outside. His Weim is usually the instigator.

Re: Sleeping situation
Both pups started out crated for the first 6-8 months and then got the sleeping in bed privilege. Queen size bed with 2 shorthairs and 2 people. My sleep # is never the same from night to night--as there's never the same amount of dog on my side of the bed.
Re: Sleeping situation
How in the world do you get your dog to lay down! I am even having trouble brining my pup into the house even after a 5 mile run. What should I do to help calm him? Would love to have him in the house but he wants to go everywhere and put everything in his mouth.

Re: Sleeping situation
It appears you are confirming my suspicions--that one more shorthair WILL fit in a queen size bed? Might have to mention that to the husband. He has fits at times with the two, and I tell him, why doesn't he just put one in the crate then. He has yet to do that, and can be found most nights with his arm wrapped snuggly around Roxi.gpblitz wrote:3 dogs 2 people in our qween size bed. She doesn't mind Blitz in bed but when JJ and Cage bail in it gets to be to much for her.

Have you told her she's being a bit narrow minded about it?gpblitz wrote:3 dogs 2 people in our qween size bed. There's times my wife wakes up so dammm mad she throws us all out. Me included. He sleeps on an old comforter on the floor at the foot of the bed.
Re: Sleeping situation
Dogs are in and out of the bed so I will start out with one and wake up in the morning with two or start with two and end up with just one. Unless the other half is in the bed she won't let them in the bed when she is there. Which is a shame cause the dogs snore less.
