I'm in the 1 - 5 range. My goal is to have about 6 dogs within the next two to three years, so hopefully I'll gain more experience with different temperaments, etc. However, I'll stick with the best breed. =)

I've been tempted to own an ep, so I might get one along the way. What would I do with a brit? =)

Ha! If you want the best of both worlds, you go with a Vizsla.

I'm at 1 still. I hope to be on 2 by this time next year. My goal is 4 over the next 4 - 8 years. Well, I say 4 and Danyelle says 2. I think eventually I'll get my way though. All I gotta do is show her puppies.

I'm going to have to see a better dog than my little Gunner before I'll exit his gene pool much less a different breed.

I guess I've got my kennel blinders on.

I'm in the 1-5 range now, give me a year, I'll be at 7.

Though I think all of them trained me, I have dogs that need no training, their all Brits and they are perfect hunters from birth!!!!!!

GRANT? Why go with an ep, you got that tail and everything and it will slow you down in the field?

Something about a hard headed, bird crazy rocket, aka ep excites me. =) Maybe it’s just a phase? Not sure. I saw a wire in a mag. today. It looked like a big hairy gorilla. Maybe I could add one of those too? Might be too hot down here… Just thinking aloud. =)

Just don't let Linz read until you have a full plan ready to spring. Wives are like does in the fall.. if they can see it coming, you'll never get a good shot.

(now, if my wife reads that I'm had too!)

Grant give me a shout when you are ready for a pointer, I'll fix you up :D You will like the WOW factor that the pointer breed normally has...

I reckon I work between 60 and 80 dogs per year, been doing that for a long time.

Kevin when you breed her I would be interested in a pup, I really like your bitch. I like Earl's dog Cowboy too and heard that you might breed to him.... Is that right? Hope ya'll have a great Christmas.

I replied to this and stopped to think....

Could you define trained? If you are talking full Borke that is one thing and if you mean started/hunting dogs that is something entirely different. With all of the opinion in dog training everyone's version of trained is different so this maybe tuff to answer.

Sorry not trying to be difficult just curious.

Regards,

Rob

Maurice I was thinking about breeding to cowboy. But he keeps getting sick for no reason and they can't figure out what is wrong with him. So I don't think he will be an option. But I will find a good stud dog for her. And thank you for your complement's on gunner that means a lot to me coming from you. If you want a pup I think we could work something out :D

Ron Wilson in Atl has the Nat`l CH Wirehair out of Shure Shot lines, I think. He is a nice dog and throws super nice pups from what I have seen.

I am in the 6-10 range. 2 shorthairs, a brit, a gordon, a english setter, 2 redbones, a black and tan and a walker and 1 lab..whew. And 1 toy fox terrier that I was trained by, and he was a "bleep" good squirrel dog.

That's about how I got Otis. We were at a trial and some people had a litter there. Pork Roll on top and Rail's Buck on bottom. I thought about it a bit and entered a pact with the people. Here's the line. Otis was so ugly that they didn't think they'd be able to sell him because everybody avoided him. so if they didn't sell him that weekend, they were putting him down. Told her with a straight face and walked away. Little latter here she come's with Otis! That was 15 yrs ago. He's still hanging on and she's gone!
