For Pheasant loads, the performance of 1 1/8 ounce loads of 6 shot over Longshot powder in a high capacity hull, (Federal Gold medal is best) is just amazing on early season birds. I promise you won't believe how effective they are.
Unbelievable range and performance. You can get 1590 fps. Late season, move up to a 1 1/4 oz with Longshot and #5's or 4s, Still cooks along at 1450 fps. Death rays.
