I do not have an Onyx Pro, but have several other Berettas. My sporting clay gun of choice has been a series of Beretta 680's, the predecessor of the 682, 686, 687 series. I have absolutely beaten them to death. Collectively, they have at least a half million rounds through them. With the target guns, there are some special replaceable parts, and I have had at least four target guns rebuilt, new parts installed, sort of like overboring the cylinder in an engine and installing oversize rings when it gets worn out.

You will find guns as durable as the Berettas, but you will not find any more durable or of better quality for the $$, no matter which model you pick.

Most of the Berettas now days are adjustable for drop and cast with a series of inserts between the action and the stock, don't know about the Onyx Pro, but worth getting some help from a competent gunsmith or local instructor who knows gun fit, to get that part worked out.

Then just pound the heck out of the things. It will love it.

Have a buddy who's a well known competitive shooter, coach, and has shot on the Canadian Skeet team. He told me "Buy a Perazzi, but if you can't afford one buy a Beretta, you'll never notice the difference"

I shot a 687L for a while, zero problems, nice gun.

I just purchased a 687 Silver Pigeon II field grade and had it sent to Beretta to put on a left handed stock. I got a great deal so with the conversion it should cost just under what the normal price is for this gun. I've been waiting over a month now for it to come back. Can't wait to shoot it.
