Shotgun shell Reloading

Post by PAHunter » Thu Sep 21, 2006 5:09 am

I have some older Active Wads in L33 Brown and L 29 White and I'm looking for a load for them. I have some Clays and Herco powder.
Any suggestions?

I guess I need a new reloading book!

Thanks,
Josh

Might not find much for those wads in the newer relodaing books. Might be better off looking in some older reloading books. WHat, gauge, hull, primer & shot charge are you looking for?

Have you looked on all the powder company sites? Most have reloading info on them online.

I did some experimenting with them at one time and used Clays quite a bit. I may have some loads in my logbook at home. What payload weight and hull are you intending to use, and what velocity do you want to generate?

Looked through the 4th Edition Reloading for Shotgunners by Fackler & McPherson & the only info I could find for Activ L33 or L 29, was some 1 oz loads for the L29 using Red Diamond powder.

The load was:

1oz

Activ All Plastic 12 ga 2 3/4 Hulls

Red Diamond Powder

Min Load with (CCI 209, CCI 209 M, Fed 209 A, Fio 616, Rem 209,Win 209) primers was 17.5 which would give you 1180 FPS

Max Load was 19.5 1290 FPS or 20.0 @ 1290 depending on which primer was used.

Max pressure was 8100 to 8500 depending on primer.

**Always start start at the Minimum powder charge on all new loads & then work your way up & make sure your powder & shot wieghts are correct**

I will try to look through some of my older stuff for more info...MIKE
