No more SKB's

Post by highcotton » Wed Jun 30, 2010 1:09 pm

The SKB factory in Japan has closed it's doors. Parts will still be available from the U.S. importer (Guns Unlimited in Omaha) for all SKB models for an estimated 10 year period.

I have long thought that SKB and Miroku were the best value out there in double guns. I hate to see them go.

I have 3 SKB's that I use for 90% of my shooting and training. The people in Omaha are nice to deal with and still have a lot of parts. We should be able to keep our guns running for several years.

The only repair I have ever had was a broken firing pin on my model 600 410 bore. Never had a problem with my model 200E's. I think i will order some parts just in case.

Too bad. I have a friend with a 12 ga that I got to hunt with and was thoroughly impressed. Best mid/low priced gun I have fired, IMO. They also make some really nice competition guns for the money.

I actually heard that the new US company is in the process of contracting an Italian company to restart the production. If that's the case the guns should be just as good in my opinion, but you never know. There is a dealer on GunBroker that bought whatever new guns he could find and is selling them at really good prices.

Really? That stinks.
I have a 785 Sporting Clays that I LOOOVVVVEEEEE. It's a fantastic gun. Absolutely beautiful gun. I shoot it for trap and skeet and upland birds some.
