Anyone hunt with a stock adapter recoil kit?

Had been thinking about about getting an AR or M4 stlyled adapter kit with a recoil buffer tube for an 870. Anyone hunt with this kind of setup. I have friends who use these for coyote and deer, wondering if it would be worth doing for bird? I dunno...

I've never felt a recoil when shooting birds. Paper yes, still target yes, flying birds never.
