Do chokes make a difference

Post by JasonW77 » Fri Dec 18, 2009 7:33 pm

I was wondering there are so many different companies out there that make choke tubes for shoot guns. Does the brand really make a difference? If so what brand do you use and believe in?

I have a set of extended Carlson's for skeet shooting. I use the factory tubes for field. The prices for some chokes are absurd. Carlson's are a good deal I think.

The benefit doesn't match the hype.

Ditto that on Carlson's I have a set for my beretta O/U- 2 sk 1 mod- 1 full work just fine for shkeet/Sp Clays-- for dux/geese I have Terror .700 & .675- I like them but can't say if they are the best-I do NOT use/like wad restrictor chokes for fear of blowing up me gun barrel.

I agree. I think that for most hunters the factory chokes are just fine.
