Winchester Super X shells

Post by Ryan » Wed Aug 03, 2005 4:39 pm

I got some shot shells from my boss. He hunts only big game and has no use for them. Any way in the boxes he gave me there were some Winchester Super X shot shells. They have a large number 2 under the super x logo then in a black line box it says mark 5. Are they 2 shot or are they 5 shot. They have a large brass head also like most steel shots are they steel? They dont say steel on the side this is why I am wondering. Look like other steel loads though.

Ryan,

You might be able to match your shells on this site: http://www.winchester.com/products/cata ... 1&gauge=12

Those are all the superX shells. Also you didn't say if they were 2 3/4 or 3 inch.

Steel shot will usually have the word STEEL stamped into the brass on the bottom by the primer. I know remington does that but I'm not sure about winchester for their steel loads.
