Considering the new 2008 Benelli 20 guage UltraLight.

Going to South Dakota again this year but don't want to haul around my Winchester 1300 12 guage, this gun is my turkey gun and is real heavy in the fields. I am considering looking at some 20 guages because of their light weight. I would practice up real nice on the gun to get good so I don't injure any birds. I have put the 20 guage Ultralight in my choice list. Looking for more info on the gun by some gun owners. I have already looked at Benelli's website, but just want to hear what some of you members have to say about it.

The 20 ga is plenty of medicine for early and late season ringnecks, but I would save the money and buy the Montefeltro.

"Weighing only 6 lbs., the Ultra Light is the lightest 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun in production, sporting a featherweight alloy receiver, shortened magazine tube and a unique raised target rib made from the same super-light, super-strong carbon fiber employed in Formula 1 race cars.

New this year is the Ultra-Light 20-gauge, which is literally the lightest 20-gauge in the world, weighing in at just 5.2 lbs. The Ultra-Light 20-gauge incorporates all the same features that lightened up it’s 12-gauge big brother. The Ultra Light in either 12- or 20-gauge is an uplander’s dream." Benelli web page

I got my Benelli Ultra Light 12G in April of 07, Before the 07-08 hunting Season I put over 600 shells thru it on clays. It's the best auto loader I've ever shot. After having to shoulder surgery's its a joy to carry a 6 lbs. 12 gage in the woods. To me well worth the money!!
