Shooting Instructors in TN or GA?

Post by mountaindogs » Sun May 11, 2008 9:48 am

I am not sure if this is the best place to post this, but does anyone in the Middle TN or North GA area Know of a good instructor for novice/beginniner sporting clays? Anyone good with older children or adults totally new to the sport and proper gun handling and all?

I believe Wendell Cherry is in Tennessee. If you follow the Sporting Clays competition circuit you will know he is one of the top shots in the country. He instructs when he is not shooting competition. Don't have any first hand experience with lessons from him, but have heard good things. Don't worry about being a beginner as most of the pro's teach all levels.

If that doesn't work for ya here is a list of NSCA (National Sporting Clays Assc.) Certified shooting instructors for TN: http://www.sportingclays.net/schools.cf ... ols_TN.htm

You should also check with the local sporting clays range. They may have house instructors which may be entirely suitable for a beginner and much cheaper than the pros. Many of the top shooters "tour" facilities and you can sign up for lessons - guys like Anthony Matarese, Jr., Dan Carlisle, etc.

Here is a list of some guys on shotgunworld that are instructors:
