Howdy all,
Anyone have a recipe for blank loads for a 16ga. We are introducing pup to an increase in gunfire while she doing dummies and thought I'd see if anyone here had a reference for blanks. I ordered a beater 16ga Zastava from Century Arms ($147 to my FFL) to carry out every morning for our walks so she will get used to going out when she sees the gun.
The other dog is getting a little less shy about the gun and the noise it makes. There may be hopw to make a hunter out of her yet!

16ga blank loads
Here is one from a book that I got a long time ago:
Any 16 gauge 2 3/4" case
Remington 209 primer
26.0 grains Hi-Skor 700-X
8-10 .135" cardboard wads (or more, depending on what it takes to fill the case).
You can get cardbard wads from Ballistic products or Precision Reloading.
Remember: even though these are 'blank' cartridges, and the cardboard shreds on firing, they can be lethal at close range; never point them at anything (or anyone) you wouldn't point a live round at.
Good luck!
