CZ Ringneck?

Post by Hasty » Wed Aug 15, 2007 9:34 am

Does anyone have a review for CZ's ringneck in 12 or 20 ga. Does it point good, how's the balance, trigger pull etc...

I have a stoeger uplander right now and it functions well but it shoots low and the triggers are super heavy. It's great for short range stuff like quail in thick cover, and I don't have to worry if it gets banged up a little but I'm not very confident in it's ability to take longer shots.

From what I hear of CZ's, if you get lucky with its functionality, they look and handle great. But it is something of a crapshoot in getting one without problems.

There are many people on here thaty have bought them and I think every report I have heard is they are the best gun for the value around today. All I have heard is they are a quality gun at a reasonable price.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

They are definitely a pretty gun for the price. I am a regular on a shotgun forum and CZs have some mixed reviews.

I have the CZ Bobwhite 20 ga 28" barrels. They're not a real pretty gun but boy do they point and shoot! If function and shooting are more important than looks, they are without question the greatest value on the firearm market today. You can go to Gunsamreica.com and still buy them new for $650.00.

A friend of mine let me shoot his new ringneck not long ago. It came up good and seemed to be a good gun for the money. The only negative about it for me was the extremely heavy trigger pull. He is happy with the gun.

Cotton; mine had that problem also. First time I shot skeet I let quite a few bird's by; I thought the gun was on safety. It's because the metal to metal fit is too tight, not the pull. I shot gun grease up into each trigger, then took a blow dryer and heated it up so the grease melted and lubricated them well. Then I sat there, gun uncocked, and just pulled the triggers several hundred times until they were smooth as silk. Never had a problem with them again. Except remembering to pull both triggers.

I have a CZ Ringneck in 20 ga. I bought it last Oct. and am very pleased with it. It points well and I can shoot pretty well with it. I have not had any problems with it including hard trigger pull. I paid $750 and I think it is absolutely the best gun for the money. This is my first double and I am in love with them.

I have heard better reviews about the Bobwhite than the Ringneck. . there are happy owners and there are owners who have gotten more than one lemon. . . I would love to pull the trigger on one, but the bad reviews just keep me from doing so. Plus, I picked up a Stevens 5100 for $200 at a gun show in 16 gauge to fill my SxS fix.

Plus, my Verona o/us are a much better gun and even though the importer fell through, are still a great gun and are now selling for more than double the price as the Savage Milano. I would much rather have a Italian made double than one made in Turkey. You can still find some Verona o/us at Gander NIB for $699 on clearance. . . .the Milano is selling for $1199 to $1599.

I have a 12 guage greenback (same as canvasback) and a 20 guage canvasback. Both are fine guns for the money and have no functional issues.

I have not heard of any functional issues from these guns. They are indeed made by Huglu and are very similar in design as the DeHaan guns.

I think it would be hard to beat the amount of function anad quality you get for the value.
