I just picked up my BPS. The sticker says:
BPS pump shotgun
model: Field
gauge: 12
Chamber: 3 1/2"
Choke: Invector
Barrel: 26"
Rib: Vent.
Serial number is 19797 NW 121
The barrel says:
INVECTOR - PLUS BPS SPECIAL STEEL 12 GA - 2 3/4" - 3" AND 3 1/2" FIELD - 26"
I tried to take a pic with my digital camera, bump it wont focus good enough to read the sticker or the writing on the barrel.
Am I reading the serial number right when I say it was made in '04? I still wonder why the blue steel and wood model isn't listed on their site with a 3.5" chamber.
I just bought a strange Browning BPS

Is it NW121 or MW121? If it is NW, then the date is 1994 according to this link.
http://www.browning.com/services/dategu ... .asp?id=25
According to that, it is older than '98 when they changed the Serial #'s, yet there is no 121 product code for prior to '98. Non-catalogued??
Now if it is MW, then it would be '04. It does say that all 3 versions used the 121 product code, which I believe includes Blued in the "Game" version.
Sorry, I can't help you out anymore than that.
