Franchi 500 Problem
I have a Franchi 500 that was my grandfather's and have run a good many shells through it over the last 5 yrs. or so. During this time it has acted up from time to time and refused to cycle but after a thorough cleaning and a new "O" ring it was good to go again. The last few times I've taken it out to shoot it won't cycle and it was clean and the "O" ring was not worn or broken.
In years past I would notice the "O" ring start to wear and look to have chunks bitten out of it by the piston. I can only think that something new is wrong with it or else I have installed the last "O" ring incorrectly. Does anybody have any ideas or experience with these guns?

That was the problem with mine, the spent shell was getting caught. I hope it is the problem with yours.USNHunter wrote:I'll look into this possibility as I hadn't even considered it. I'm thinking it's an issue within the gas system as the spent shell isn't kicked out of the chamber but interesting possibility. Thanks.
