I'm just wondering what types of shotguns does everyone use and love?

Type?

I use a Franchi Alcione in 12g with 26" barrels for quail because it is light, easy to carry, gets on birds quick, and I like an O/U. Wish I had a set of 20g barrels for it. For doves most of the time I use a 28g Remington 1100 Sporting model that I absolutely love. Also have an 1100 20g that that my son has laid claim to that I use when I can steal it away from him. There is a 12g 1960s model 870 in the safe with a 30" full and an ic barrel that I need to find more time for. A 12g CZ Mallard with 28" barrels that I got last fall. I have used it a few times, those double triggers will take some getting used to. A Winchester 1300 with a rifled deer barrel from when I used to live in Indiana and a Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag for turkeys. You want to talk rifles next?

I have a Savage Fox Model B SxS that I love to shoot with. Unfortunately, I was shooting clay about a month ago and broke the rear stock. I had some old 5s that I wanted to get rid of and a box of those cracked the stock near the tang. So, I'm in the market for a new stock for this gun.

Question for a question...what type of government agency do you work for Jason :? ...just kidding

I don't own any guns, especially not a 12ga pump 28" barrel winchester 1200, and definitely not a O/U Remington Spartan 20 ga.

I own many guns and I have found that I almost always grab the cheapest gun I own when I'm in the field ( stoeger o/u ). It has a ton of draw backs for most people, but it's cheap so I don't care if it gets dinged or scratched and it knocks down birds. It's not the gun it's the guy holding it is what I've heard a hundred times. :D

Type? White Wing
Gauge? 12
Brand? Beretta
Barrel Length? 28"
Load? usually Fiocchi spreader loads in #7

My gun is a relatively cheap off the shelf model that has been tweaked and played with till it's perfect for me. The entire stock is modified, safety is removed and both barrels are ported and honed extremely long.

I have to say that this is always a difficult question for me to answer. I like almost all the guns I own - if I didn't, why would I have them, right?

My favorites are a 16 gauge Browning 525 Field with 28" barrels, a 16 gauge A.H. Fox A grade, and a 20 gauge Remington Spartan (Baikal) 310S. I've been trying Gamebore loads these days in the Fox, just because a low pressure 2-1/2" load seemed like a more attractive option with such a light gun, and they work pretty well too. I've been using the Winchester #6 high brass loads for pheasants, and Federal #7-1/2's for quail, mostly because I bought a case on sale back in 2007. But 7-1/2's are good enough for any planted bird, so I use them for training too.

But the Spartan is a pretty good gun for the money, and it fits me well too - it's currently my crappy weather gun, but I'd bet I end up using that for training all summer. I have several cases of Winchester 7-1/2's I'm burning through with that, as well as a bunch of Remington Gun Club loads in #8 that seem to work fine on quail also.

I have a Remington 1100 semi auto 12ga with a 28" barrell. I hunt pheasents on the west side and quail and chukers on the east side of the mountains here in North WA. It was my dad's gun he bought 20+ years ago. Its in great shape. But now i'm looking at getting a o/u. Haven't deided on what yet. Just like to see what others are using and trust.

For upland birds I have a Benelli Legacy Limited Edition Y2K 1 of 250 In a 12 Gauge. It has 28" Barrel and I use Fiocchi Golden Pheasant for big bird, and Whatever is cheap by the case in 7 1/2's for Quail.

As for H20Fowln I have a Benelli Super Black Eagle II In 12 Guage and It sports a 26" barrel (which is what I prefer) and I use Kent Fasteel 3 1/2" BB for Geese, and 3" Fasteel in 2's for Ducks.
The Legacy and Super Black Eagle both have the exact same frame's so switching between guns is never an issue. SMOOTH!

Come a long ways from my Dads old H&R 12 Gauge. :D

I alternate between my old Ted Williams 20 Guage pump with the adjustable choke and a cheap 20 guage O/U that is Italian made. Have a 12 Guage A5 semi-auto but haven't shot it for a couple of years. They all shoot alike, all miss when I don't shoot where the bird is, but the main thing in my mind is the weight when I have to carry them. Thats the reason my 12 guages sit in the cabinet while the 20's go to the field. As far as kick goes, they all do when shooting paper but have never felt one kick when shooting birds. Have a 20 guage Remington Express combination that goes to the timber during deer season and occasionally I take a 50 Cal. muzzleloader instead. Shooting sabots for deer and 4's or 5's for birds using either open cylinder or improved depending how tight the birds are sitting and how windy it is. 90% of my hunting is for pheasants.

90% of my hunting is also for pheasants and i use improved cylinder exclusively with #6 shot as my first shell followed by all #4's and after i proceed to put a #6 back into the chamber, while i'm not dogging your efforts im mearly stating how similar they are to mine. yet a little different.

I do the same thing with my shells. I do use 6's if I can't find the others which happens once in a while. But I use a smaaller one for the first shot.

The range is shitty and the amount of lead sent is too but with birds right above your head it is just fine.

Beretta 686 Pheasants Forever Ringneck Edition for upland. I prefer copper-plated 5's or 6's for phez, regular ol' 7 1/2's for quail.

Benelli SBE for waterfowl, turkey and doves. Three and half inch, BB for geese, 3 1/2" #3 for ducks (smaller for teal, of course), 3 1/2" copper-plated number 5's for turkey, 1 1/8 oz #8's for dove.

One that works when there is a shell in the chamber, the firing pin is cocked, the safety is off, it's aimed in a safe direction & I pull the trigger. :P

you know- I'm sort of going with "you might have pups you might not" either way will be just fine- first time we bred her figured I had to convince her she was with pups- so we'll just have to wait and see

reason I said that- is because I've been with a few who could handle a 410- so it goes without saying that you can shoot

btw- see the locals down there are still thinking UFO's

I do mean to be carefull about speaking of the spirits and witches- can really scare some  8)

For pheasants, I use a Benelli UltraLight, 12 ga, 24 inch barrel. I shoot Kent Fasteel 3 inch 1 and 1/4 ounces of #4s.
For ducks and turkeys, I shoot a Benelli SBE 12 ga, 26 inch barrel. I shoot the same load for ducks as I do pheasants. For turkeys, I shoot HeviShot 3.5 inch, 1 and 7/8 ounce of #6 shot.
My baby is my Beretta 28 ga Silver Pidgeon Grade III, 28 inch barrels. I shoot HeviShot Classic Doubles through it, 5/8 ounce of #6 shot. I killed a few pheasants with it last fall. During a New Years trip to South Dakota for three days of pheasant hunting, I shot three limits of birds on public land. I shot the UltraLight. In hindsight (and for next year), I should have shot the 28 ga...all shots were point blank, 20 yards max.

I have a Yildiz O/U in 12 gauge, a Baikal SxS in 20 gauge and a Remington 1100 in 12 gauge as well as the Lil Skeeter Gauge Converters for my O/U.

I hunt mostly pheasant and quail

I usually use 6 or 7 1/2 shot lead with Skeet and IC chokes for quail and IC and Mod. for pheasant since I have pointing dogs the shots are fairly close.
