Dove Season in Colorado

Post by Ironhorse77 » Sun Sep 02, 2007 8:19 am

Dove season opened up yesterday in Colorado. Anybody have any luck?

I went to the same spot I saw thousands of them last year and I saw about 10 this year (near Brush, CO). Either they have found a new 'favorite' spot or they're slimmer than I thought they ought to be this year.

Don't know about Colorado, but noticed the same thing in AZ around Phoenix. Areas we've hunted for years and had a fair to large amounts of dove were now just about nothing (could count the number of birds seen on 3 hands - less in some areas).

we did great in Idaho, limited out in 2.5 hours. When I was in phoenix this spring for work, doves were everywhere.

There are a ton near town (especially near the dairies where I live, but there's too much development to hunt there now. We're trying down south this weekend - there's more agriculture land now. Hopefully there are more birds flying.
