Days Like This

Spent the first afternoon of winter break up in the hills. I packed the blank pistol, and he pinned three nice coveys, (two mountain quail, and one valley quail). It cooled down enough that I could road him from the truck after we worked the heavier cover on foot. Was the first afternoon we had to break ice in the the cattle tank for a swim. Running dogs never gets old!

If mud holes and creek bottoms were birds, we would have limited out. We found em all today!
