Last Day of Bird Season
A Buddy, Spud and I make the most of the last day of Bird Season yesterday.
Heading out at mid-day Wed driving to our hunt. Was 17 below that morning. Had some concerns as to the wisdom of traveling and dog/hunt logistics in that weather but not enough to miss the last day of season. Glad we went. It dawned 6 degrees yesterday and using a camera was a challenge as I had to pull off heavy gloves, wake up a frozen battery camera, frosted lens and viewfinder, poor focus ... Did the best I could.
First point of the Day on a Single.
Another Single
Covey
Single
One of Many. Every bird that hit the ground was recovered.
Covey
Covey Point. Birds were running in brush, Spud relocated, looped out in front and cut them off a moment after I snapped the photo. Should have been taking video.
Last Bird of our 2 man limit taken off a point on a single.
A worn out old Birdhunter. Our Best day on Bobs this season. 7 coveys and more work on singles than I could keep count of. Blessed.
