Nice point....and a hit!

Finally! I got some 16ga shells so I could put the old Ithaca M37 back in my hands, I'm a lefty shooter, and I've been shooting it since it was customized for me at 13, and it's a look and shoot gun for me after 40 years.

Right off the bat, Mauser scent pointed - and then again - a couple of hundred yards before the clip starts. As you will see, he swept the area and relocated the scent again and points immediately. Then he moves in and locks up on the grouse. At almost 15 mos now, he is cautiously handling these birds. Perhaps it's because I've missed the last 15 over him this season using my other various shotguns. We are in the middle of FF training, so the retrieve took a minute. I cut out the middle part of that.
