Wisconsin Grouse Hunting

Just curious if anyone had been out yet with any luck. How are the woods looking? I will be heading to the clam lake area hopefully in a few weeks. Thanks

Been a tough season so far here. Lots of cover due to so much rain and warm temperatues this summer. September brought up to 10" of rain in some areas in one week so woods are very wet. Only flushed 2 Woodcock since opener, which is OK I don't shoot em anyway. Temperatures haven't help either first week was pretty warm hitting 80. Need cooler, drier air and leaves to drop. Thanks for the response, I'm probably gonna head up for 2-3 days towards the end of October.
