Went over the western side of the state when our season closed. I hunted two WMAs in a cold inversion. Lots of quail flushed but not killed and a few roosters. Here are some photos of the dogs and the reward.

Looks colder than Canada :)

Does the GSP have a big lump on his chest or just a bad camera angle?

Grant, It was cold. She has a real deep chest and has worn the hide at the breast bone raw. (I can't keep a belly protector on her.) The camera angle makes it look deeper than it really is. But there is no lump.

looks fun. I would rather have some more snow than -10 and sunny!

Are those pheasant planted?

That looks cold. I am sure it warmed up when the birds were found. What breed is that black dog? I am not able to tell from the pictures.

Wyobio, Both of the pictured birds were planters, likewise 3 of the 4 I shot both days were planters.

NC Quail, The black dog, Puck, is a German Wirehair/Lab cross.

Awesome! I have always thought a wirehair/lab would be a fun mix. As long as you got a mellower pointing dog, not a crazy around the house, bird chasing flusher!

Puck is a great dog. He's 5 yo and pretty mellow. He's quiet in a duck blind or canoe. His big draw backs are burrs in beard and ears, he inhales cat food and he loves little kids.(Living just around the corner from a grade school makes it easy to find him if he gets out, though)

Get this vest for your GSP and help protect her chest. These are easy to put on and adjust. She won't get this one off. I've been using them on my Brittanys for over 10 years.
