pheasant hunt starting time
It seems as if different states have different starting times for pheasants and quail. I like the later start times.

When I was younger I scoffed at South Dakota as being more for drinkers, card players, and womanizer, than serious hunters. Now I enjoy it.powbass@gmail.com wrote:It seems as if different states have different starting times for pheasants and quail. I like the later start times.

Do you enjoy the late start now or those other things? I just wanted to make sure I got it right.Neil wrote:When I was younger I scoffed at South Dakota as being more for drinkers, card players, and womanizer, than serious hunters. Good point, Mike.
I will confess to not being a stranger to cards and bourbon, but mostly I have found a day afield can be enjoyed without it being a forced march from daylight to dark.

My thoughts... pheasant in the areas that I hunt are in cut wheat feeding early... it's hard to get them to hold in the open fields, so I've had more success waiting until after they have fed and move to heavy cover usually later in the a.m. depending on weather. I look for good cover next to food plots to hunt pheasant. I will say I set my own starting time as later in the a.m. Opening weekend you might need to get out early to your hunting ground, but usually the crowd is gone after the opener.

According to me, Pheasant hunting is very famous in United States. It starts before sunrise at roots sites, usually in areas of short to medium heights grass, where they spend their night. Pheasant usually begin feeding around 8:00 a.m. So this is the best time for Pheasant hunting.
