Ft Pierre Grasslands

Just returned from two days on the Ft. Pierre Grasslands. Birds were very scarce and fairly skittish, and there were more hunters than I've seen in my fifteen years or so of hunting out there. We set up camp Friday afternoon in a very remote area, but Sat morning we had four vehicles parked with a couple hundred yards of us, with guys hunting in all four directions. I was disappointed, but I only drove a couple of hours to get there. I can't imagine how frustrating that would be for those who traveled long distances to get out there. Sure hope others had better experiences.

Birds didn't come easy but that's what makes the grasslands
Hunt during the week I instead of going when weekend warriors are out.
