NW-NCentral MO or N Central KS to hunt over Christmas

Post by hi-tailyn » Mon Dec 15, 2014 8:59 pm

Any suggestions as to some good hunting for kids and young dogs. Of course would like to get kids into some shooting situations.

Dogs would probably do better on quail, but kids would like the pheasants better.

Would be day hunting from Kansas City area.

Have hunted the Manhattan area and south before and was thin on birds, but that has been many years ago. Reports say numbers of both birds are up some.

Have hunted some of MO wildlife areas that looked good but no birds. Again it has been many years.

Any general areas that are better for some memories for the kids? Not looking for your honey holes.

Thanks

If you want to ensure some shooting and some dog work I would recommend researching and going to one of the control shooting areas. May cost a little, but you accomplish what you are looking for.
