grouse hunt

Went grouse hunting today and hunted two of our covers. 4 flushes and 2 points in the first cover. 6 flushes next cover. Only had two points, but he found 8 birds and the other two were in trees. I'm happy because he is showing that he can find them. I know that with a little more experience on grouse he will turn into quite the dog, this is only his 2nd season. The hunt was ended when he met a porcupine

Sounds like pup is on the way . porcupine's can create problems. Hope it wasn't to bad

That's always good when they can find and pin them. Downing one or two is always a bonus. Easier said then done. Good luck with him!
