First grouse retrieve for my Aussie

Post by Minneguy » Fri Oct 17, 2014 11:25 am

Finally knocked down a grouse over my Aussie the other day, which led to a first successful retrieve on a game bird. I am so jacked up! We have been seeing a ton of birds, and I've been lucky enough to harvest 5 up here so far and two back home one night while Bowhunting. I tell ya, grouse hunting might have taken the cake for me and recently become my favorite bird to hunt. Well, maybe they are tied with widgeon....

Want real fun with your Aussie? Go find a deer herd. Mine would locate, round up and bring back herds of more than 20 deer. Then you just pick out which one you want.

Herding is what your dog was born to do.

But they don't herd deer well since the deer can and do out run them for shorter distances whenever they feel like it.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

And id rather not have him herding deer. The DNR frowns upon it here

You obviously read what I wrote Izzy. It wasn't an opinion.

Tiny,

OK not an opinion but it would still be illegal. How much ground did he have to hunt and how many deer did he round up off of those acres?
