Cold Missouri quail hunt

I managed to get out this morning and go up the road a piece with the two Brittany's for an armed nature hike. It was looking to be just that after walking for an hour and a half and seeing nothing but one rabbit. On the way back towards the truck I swung by this one wooded draw in the middle of the bean field where I had been hunting the edges and ditches. I came around a corner and was greeted by this sight.

The covey flushed into the woods but I managed to get a shot on one bird and brought it down. Katie pointed again, a real nice intense point but I didn't get a picture. It turned out to be a single that was brought down and retrieved. I decided to not harvest any more birds but continued to let the dogs find the singles. There was one more bird pointed before I got too cold and started back to the truck.
Here are the dogs with their harvest.
