I recently talked with my brother-in-law also trying to set up a quail hunt, Tulsa, he says all of his friends are going north to Kansas, drought has really hurt Okla.

I've heard the areas in far NW Oklahoma held a few birds this past season. By no means, great numbers. If you are traveling a great distance, save your gas and spend the $ on birds at a preserve.

That's a good idea, i just realy wanted to work my gyp especially on wild birds. The preserve birds aren't smart enough to boogie when she gets too close. I think getting burned by a few wary birds would do her alot of good!

Don't waste your time coming out here. Birds are really scarce especially quail. Pheasant and quail numbers have been way down the last couple of years. We have been getting good snow and rain this year just the past month or so. I am hoping the moisture we are getting from it will help with hatch numbers and insect populations as well as to green everything up around here. Supposed to have some more snow tonight then turn really nice next week.

Better go north of Kansas as well... draught has caused issues there too.
