Is it legal to hunt quail at Caddo N.G.? If so has anyone hunted recently? Any tips(to stay legal), do's or don't's? Good places to camp?

My info is dated, but better than nothing.

30+ years ago there were very few quail, and I will bet less now, a lot less.

There were a few select areas that had excellent woodcock hunting, the best I have found save LA.

Good luck, but Texas is a pay to hunt state, and not in East Texas.

Gotcha. Thanks for some info. How is OK for public hunting? Or even AK for that matter?

You are heading the wrong direction, go Southwest, and expect to pay for a lease.
