Helpful info for hunting in wisconsin

Post by jczv » Tue Oct 30, 2012 12:56 pm

The DNR has finally published an online map for MFL and FCL land (private land open to hunting).

http://dnrmaps.wi.gov/opfl/#

Believe it or not the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal actually drove this getting created. It still doesn't solve the issue of MFL land that has no legal access but it certainly clarifies what land is open. BTW MFL land is land open to hunting, fishing and general recreation, FCL land is only open to hunting and fishing. Landowners get a break on property taxes if they enroll.

If you click the link there's an initial popup that gives a definition and instructions. I used the DNR's acronym's to be consistent. And yes it's a map of open land that can be used not a map of land that isn't open.
