ND Sharptail

Post by laxhcky4 » Mon Sep 19, 2011 10:55 am

Was out for a quick 2.5 day hunt. We ended up seeing quite a few birds but we put on the miles to find them. They were holding pretty tight on Thursday but Friday the wind kicked up and they were flushing wild about 100 yards out. Had some good dog work and some bad. My dog is 17 months old and held point nicely on a few birds and ended up bumping quite a few. I think she is starting to get the message a little bit. I was careful not to shoot any bumped birds over her. My buddy does some training so we had 9 dogs out including mine. I tried to hunt her by herself as much as possible.

We met up with another breeder/trainer and they had some luck as well. They also had 2 dogs get into porcupines so that was a new experience for me.
