I spent some time out at Berry College this weekend and ran across this print. Any ideas?

Looks like just a house cat.... ha

In all seriousness though from the photos I cant see any toe nail prints did you see any? That really looks like a BIG cat track, so round in shape.

It wouldn't surprise me if there are some Cougars there. We have Panthers in my area. I haven't seen one yet but have several friends who have seen them not far from where I live.

Ugh Snakes!! I have a huge fear of them.

Come on Grant... i haven't seen a snake documentary yet where the the guide didn't circle the snake and pick it up by the neck to show us his fangs. I kept waiting for you to bust in there with a stick and pick it up to show us :D  We don't have either of those...poisonous snakes or large cats...where I live but I've seen mountain lion tracks that look pretty similar to those in photos and on hunting shows.

I have to ask - did that rattler not get shot? And if not - WHY?

Only good rattlesnake is a dead rattlesnake, IMO

I believe that the Timber Rattler is an endangered species. I know that's the case in IL anyway, and it's illegal to kill them.
