A great showing for the sporting dog class and an eye opener to those not familiar with the pointing breeds.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

I still have no idea what kind of National Show we are talking about. And I doubt if it will set off a lot of uncontroled breeding since we don't know even what kind of pointer won this mysterious show.

We sure are missing a lot of info on this one.

Maybe it was the Pointer Club National Specialty Show. On Sept. 30th weekend a Pointer, CH Cookieland Seasyde Hollyberry won Best of Breed at that National Show.

It was the National dog show. And it was Holly that took best in show. She has won something like 95 best of shows.

It seems the NationaL Dog Show is the name that the Phil. Kennel Club uses for its AKC show. I had never heard of it and knew it wasn't one of the major shows that are truely national like Westminster or the old International Dog Show held at the International Amphitheater in Chicago. Looks like it is a good show though.

Does anybody know if there are any plans to trial this dog or if the owners at least plan to hunt it? I know that trialing or hard hunting training before the "beauty pagent" is usually a no-no, more so with a short coat breed, for fear or scaring.
Last year I watched this show and when they were summarizing the sporting dogs they said these were very active dogs who needed lots of exercise. Then they described the ways you could exercise them. They never mentioned hunting them. Did they mention it this year? (I was out hunting and missed the broadcast this year.) I just hope this best in show dog gets to do what it was bred to do.
