I have heard of this once before. How did you start the training?
I would like to work with my dogs on this. My Dad has a dog that seems to have always had a better nose for fur than feathers, wonder if he would be a good shed finder? He is always comming up with coons, opossems, and cats. I love it when he brings Dad back a cat There are so many and they are a huge predeter on our quail/pheasants around here.

I just started with a shed antler in my backyard I had and let her fetch it a few times then I hid it on her and told her to go find the shed. After a short time of doing this she began to find them. She is a really smart dog and a quick learner. When I took her into the woods to look for sheds she mainly found deer bones. This was her first time out. Maybe this weekend She will find some good ones. If she does I will post the pics.

I don't think so. She listens to me when I call her. Sometimes when I have in the woods with me she must see or sense things and will come to a stop (not pointing) and wont go beyond that spot unless I start walking towards that area. Maybe she sees a deer or coyote. It has happened twice already in two different areas.
