Thanks for the kind words.

Here is a pic of him pointing one of the birds..I need to learn to believe him..There was a bird real close down wind (behind) of him that we could see, but he wanted to point the opposite direction...I thought maybe he was mixed up but he kept pointing this way and sure enough a secound rooster was hiding where he was pointing. I learned as much or more than he did that day.

Until my nose is better than the dog's, I'll let him find 'em & I'll stick to shootin' 'em!

That grass looks like Hasting Island grass.... Is that where you hunted? Nice looking dog.

You should be! If I were you I'd have that picture hanging in my office before the day was out. ;)

yakky'sgriff - Nice job. The guys at Birds Landing are class acts and really helped me out when I got my adopted GSP. Not only did they help me determine if my dog had hunting potential, but they put me in touch with a professional dog trainer in Dixon.

Best of luck on all your future hunts, you have a great companion.

gsp4me, I agree I do like it there. They are very nice and the facilities are good. I have only hunted there as a guest of a friend from work, but Im looking at joining. My friend allowed me to use my dog for the first hour that day then we finished the morning with his lab. I already have a trainer in mind that is familar with Griffs including their own that is a five years older full sibling.
