Nice pictures guys. We can finally hunt sharp tail here. Season has been closed for several years here. Now...How do you make there birds table fair for everyone to enjoy including the little ones?

I marinate sharp tail breasts overnight in apple cider vinegar and brown sugar, then dip in egg, coat with bread crumbs with some salt and pepper, then fry them very rare. They have to be pink in the middle or they're overcooked.

I will give that a try. I like to make sharp tail and elk gumbo with mine

Either soak them in sprite over nite ( it works) or there is a marinate I tried that I think was called GAME TAME-

LOL... notice everyone needs something to kill the taste of sharpie's. They are nasty tasting, but could be made into a treat for your dog, if I was a dog I'd probably want to roll on one though.

I find them comparable to pheasant. They are a ball to hunt over a pointer so I actually prefer hunting them to pheasants with a pointing dog.

They are really neat birds and fun to hunt for sure. But comparable on the table to a pheasant?

Much more comparable to a sage grouse, duck or venison. They can be prepared to taste delicious as long as you do not overcook them IMHO.

I marinate them in red wine (usually merlot) for 24 to 36 hours.
