Devil Birds
Devil Birds
A friend and I decided to go out and brave the steep hills and deep snow chasing some stupid birds....... We had heard them below us so we were working our way down towards them when we saw a single bust and fly down the canyon, Ruger and Otto were working the ridge where we saw the single and Ruger went on point. We walked down slowly and they flushed wild about 60 yards below us, we saw where they landed and went after them, but after causing a near avalanche we decided they deserved to live another day...
On point
Ruger trying to magically make a bird appear out of nothing, I think he feels that if the beeper is going off there will be a bird there... If nothing else it gets the blood pumping.
A hole we found if you need to hide a body... It was pumping out steam also, we thought the mtn was on fire.

Nice pics! That makes pheasant hunting look darn right pedestrian... I really want to get out and try that some day.

muddy creek, If you decide to come out and hunt put these items on your chukar hunting list: 1) auto shotgun with drum clip, 2) Pointer X Mountain goat cross, and 3) chairlift.

It's tough hunting all right! I broke my ankle out Chukar hunting on the 9th of Dec in the ridges along the Snake northwest of Boise. I was a mile from the truck, it was a memorable walk out. I hunt by myself a lot and I might pickup one of those products that gives your location in an emergency, just in case.

I took two rough looking scoundrels out there today and managed a few all over solid points. So it can be done, just keep plugging away at it and it will happen.Elkhunter wrote:Those birds have PHD's in avoidance, good luck killing one!!!

What Time were you there? I was on that hill from 1-3 over by the hole letting Penny see if she could find anything. Would have been cool running into you.
Re: Devil Birds
if you were wondering I did not see a bird, but thats what happens when your pointer wont run more than 50 yards from you.
