I took Trap out yesterday and we busted a covey of quail right next to a berry thicket. I shot one and he kept flying. I saw him dip when I hit him and saw the cloud of feathers so I know hes hit. We get to where I think he is and its in a deerbrush thicket about 200 yards long, backed by a river and next to this impenetrable berry thicket. No way I can even get in the deer brush so I send Trap in where I think he should be. Trap goes left and I think he should be going right so I call him back and send him right. He goes left again so I let him be. About 2 minutes later he come back with the bird- still alive.
At 10 months I think hes got a few more of these left in him.

Good dog Trap. Sometimes you just have to trust them. Hard not to to second guess them at times though.
