Nice Surprise

Post by Ruffshooter » Sun Sep 09, 2007 2:36 pm

I ran my French britt in a open ameture trial on Saturday and Sunday.

I left early, had to take care of the rest of the dogs. Sunday morning I got a nice surprise. Buster got a third place. He had two finds and handled each well. He covered ground pretty well till the last 1/3 of the trial then got hot and tired. It was 85 degrees and humid. He has only been worked for about two weeks. But he still hunted. his brace mate was pulled.

Sunday, different story. He and his brace mate were both pulled when they both crowded a bird and it flew. Buster was being nuts any way. Acted like a dog was run in Season. Too bad because it was much cooler 62 degrees. He was covering much more ground with some speed.

Any way, was a nice surprise.

Thanks Guys,
It was fun and I did get more comfortable. Wish Buster could have broke out of his funk Sunday, I think he would have been in the mix again. But thats how the flop lands sometimes.
